STMonitor is the portal a climate consulting firm uses to follow its clients’ emission reduction projects from validation to verification. Each project, along with its standard, methodology and technology, is broken down into processes made of milestones, and into crediting and monitoring periods.
A carbon credit project is a months-long process that goes back and forth between the consultant, the project owner, the verification body and the standards body. Which step was waiting on whom, and how much time each party had spent, got lost in email threads.
Processes are defined as flows with start, decision, loop and parallel nodes. Each milestone’s owner, the number of days each stakeholder has spent in the process, and the periods all sit on the same screen; reminders land on the calendar with recurrence rules, and clients follow their own projects from their own dashboard.
